They, being the white power structure are willing to extend a hand to anybody that is not one of them ,meaning native born citizens of African descent, because we are a constant reminder of their dark history they instead of trying to amend that history choose to willfully, intentionally, definitively, bury that history by pretending that it never happened,or latter generations saying it wasn't me or denying that they profited from the evil act of slavery, each attempt as despicable as the next,so with all do respect to the delusional Mia Love,African Americans have been shown anything but love.

Re: Pastor Jamal Bryant On President Obama’s Statement About Gay Marriage [AUDIO] | 100.3 WRNB

I have been there, I have done that, and it is evil. I am a saved Judeo-Christian. Roman 1 verse 26-32 tells you that homosexuality is evil. Period. You cannot preach out of one side of your mouth and then say you are working for G-d. Either it is darkness or it is Light. Which is it? You cannot be a lukewarm Minister. I despise the comment of this indivdual in stating that "they have no choice" when it comes to voting. Well, they do. Either your vote for a man who has been married to the same woman, who devotes his life to G-d, who has raised good sons or your vote for the man who aborts children , who has had homosexuality experiences and now is promoting marriage for the same sex. The hyprocrite who just stated that Romney is a choice that they would never make is "not" only a man who doesn't obey G-d's laws, but, rather vote for darkness and skin color. Shame on these evildoers - Roland Martin, you will not see the LIght if you don't tell what is in your heart to the listeners.

Re: 15 Black Films That Don’t Suck

What about the Wiz Diana Ross Michael Jackson, Nipsey Russell, Ted Ross, and Richard Pryor

Re: Pastor Jamal Bryant On President Obama’s Statement About Gay Marriage [AUDIO] | 100.3 WRNB

I am a pastor. My friend in VA has written a most powerful commentary on this issue. She talked about the black church allowing the organist and the songtress who they know is gay minister in the church, they take the tithe and the offering and they then want to bash Obama. The hypocrisy of the church is mind blowing. I heeard a pastor on Tom Joyner this morning my question to the church is this , if marriage is so sacred why do the church allow people to get married over and over and over again. All of a sudden marriage is sacred when the majority of pastors have committed adultery over and over and over again. Get my book, The truthe about human sexuality, when Biology meets Theology and get my other book, I would believe you but... the hypocrisy of the religious in politics. www.marilynnmiles.com or go to amazon.

Re: Mary J Blige Sings The "National Anthem" At Kentucky Derby | 100.3 WRNB

I love Mary, but no one can sing the Star Spangled Banner like Whitney Houston.

Re: 4 Ways To Include African American Decorations This Holiday Season

Sprayed paint when dry can display unsightly patterns if the spraying application does not result in an even distribution of paint.

Re: Shemar Moore Letting Loose For His Birthday In Miami | 100.3 WRNB

Boy, black men and them strip clubs. Which she has told me when she goes to the mall with with friends she treated nice. However, when she goes to the mall with black friends she treated very differently. Nevertheless, because she is black she has special rules I have taught her to follow. Should she ever stopped by the law at the mall she knows to give them my business card and not to asked any questions until I arrive.

Anyhoo, the next time you fill out any kind of application does it ever cross your mind why white people are not asked to declare their origin of their race or ethnic background? We live in a nation where color means the difference in achieving many of your goals in life. So, you have to fight all the time just to get your foot in the door and keep your foot there. Just like the college instructor who kept telling me to go to the beginners swim class. I know what he was saying but didn't say it out loud, was back people just don't scuba dive, so you must have the wrong class. So, I said to the teacher my name is own your list and he said what is your name Williams? Brown? Johnson? You know a name that belongs to a black person or think belongs to a black person... you know a slave name. However, my last name looks Jewish or Native American. For the record at my last Powwow I am often reminded it's a Jewish name. So when he asked where did you get a name like that from that I replied that I got my name from Dad and his Dad got it from the slave-master. The teacher backed up off me and we had an understanding from that point onward in the class. For the record I did not bring color to the table in my scuba class however, when I showed up with my black/mixed race face that is when color/racism enter the picture.

Re: Why Don't Black People Swim? | 100.3 WRNB

I have herd this argument all of my life and lived most of the argument, so for the recorded black folks we must teach our children how to do anything and everything life. I grew up in segregated St. Petersburg, Florida. The only beach black folks in St. Pete were allowed to swim was the water trash dump down town St. Pete and it was pretty bad. Then along came Wild Wood Swimming Pool (WW) now called Jennie Hall-Wildwood Park Pool. I still call it WW located in the projects of south St. Petersburg Florida called Jordan Park off the historic avenue of 22nd Street. When I was eight yo I learned to swim, dive off diving boards and compete in swim events. Needless to say there were not a large number of black female swimmers as I remember swimming and not swimming had a lot to do with their hair not getting wet!

Anyhoo, I swam on my high school swim trained for my WSI passed with ease, and moved to away for college to Raleigh, NC where I was meet with resistance when applying for a job with the City of Raleigh to be a lifeguard which was nothing but I had the audacity to apply for a position as a Swim Instructor, which I was dismissed as being for being delusional back in 1979, because not one black person let-alone a black female had their WSI Raleigh, NC. Needless to say, I prevailed and got the job the for a long time I was the only female to have her WSI in Raleigh, NC and I held on to that title for at least 10 years. So, with my tools in hand not only did I teach every black child in southeast raleigh how to swim correctly. I also taught at Shaw University and the ROTC class at Saint Augustine College. many of the white swim clubs were ripping off the black school by taking a whole semester to teach beginning swimming, which was ridiculous and shameful.

Nevertheless, I learned to maintain swimming pools so that I could continue to teach swimming and everything in between. I started teaching when I was 17 yo and continue until I was 30. In between teaching I also became a certified scuba diver while I was attending NC State University where I met resistance once more because my teacher thought that I was delusional and counseled me to that I was in the wrong swim class and I should be in beginners swimming. I explained to the teacher I knew what I was doing and my name was on his list. Needless to say I out swam the class. For that teacher well he had to eat some crow and one day that same teacher was teaching for the city of Raleigh and all lifeguards and swim instructors had a workshop and he saw me at the training. he wanted to know why didn't I tell him I was certified and asked him why did I need too. I was just a scuba class! So, my point is if I could do all this during segregation and post segregation there is no reason why black kids are still drowning. Parents put your kid in a swim class.. Mothers learn to do your little girl hair in cornrows so that they can learn how to swim! Also, check out white pool before you let your kids attend the pool make sure they have some black lifeguards and if the swim pools does not move on or have some black life guards sign up for a job.

Thus, if not you can always call the American Red Cross and hire you a swim teacher.. I taught private lessons for years and at one time I only charged a dollar a lesson. Ten lesson for ten dollars per hour. I would cut the class off at ten students. People still approach me to teach lesson. I tell them that job is for the young folks now! Young people get certified to teach swimming it will change your life and the kids you teach!

Re: Why Don't Black People Swim? | 100.3 WRNB

You know, I once had a girlfriend who was very light skinned and I remembered that she never referred to herself as being Black, Afro American, African American, African, etc,. She always called herself as being part Native American, Cajun French and German. But never once did she spoke of her "Black lineage..???? Her father was brown skinned and her mother was light skinned, and they both were from Jamaica, West Indies. Many years later, I heard that she had married a light skinned brother............Damn, even Black people suffer from self hatred when it come to race. Slavery and Jim Crowism has really done a negative job on us as a people. Even my own daughter, at college, was passing herself off as an "East Indian!" Her mother was a Guyanese East Indian and my daughter looked more like her than me.......When I spoke to my daughter about her mixed racial heritage, she could not look me in the eye...! If we as Humans would lose the attitude of she is White or He is Black and Teach our children the same we could lose Racism. Yes we would still have to deal with a few Idiots that just Hate to Hate, but that's Life. In the past few months alone I have noticed that people have referenced French and even Hispanic as white! Please, we are and should be proud of our heritage I myself am Irish, Cherokee and Choctaw, It is part of what makes me "Me", But it is not all that I am or all that I can be.... So if you want to see a real change in our world when you hear someone say something irrelevant like He is black or white - Tell them "WHAT'S COLOR GOT TO DO WITH IT"? Some have argued with me saying it is a description, but tall, short, thin & heavy is a description.... Nice Ugly & Polite are descriptions. Wearing a red shirt is a description, but the color of your skin - Please! We should all start referring to descriptive references as Dark, Light etc. I told my oldest daughter the other day - Why do people see a red apple and say oh it is pretty! or a purple flower and say OMG it is beautiful, but when the same people see a skin color different than their own they don't see beauty they see ugly? I do not in my heart feel this was God's intention when He made so many Beautiful People....
